BASF is a leading supplier of high-quality and innovative aroma ingredients for the flavor and fragrance industry. At BASF Aroma Ingredients, we are passionate to support you with innovative flavor and fragrance ingredients that meet highest quality standards, transparency and performance. We offer aroma ingredients for many applications, such as fragrance creations like perfumes, shampoo, soaps, detergents and cleaners, fine fragrances, air care and more as well as for diverse flavor compositions.

We combine our scientific strength and excellent regulatory know-how with a global production and supply network.

We are committed to a sustainable future by offering aroma products with a significant sustainability contribution. Our offers focus on a reduced product carbon footprint and include upcycled and renewable alternatives via BASF's biomass balance approach.
Together, we create memorable emotions for everyone - while caring for future generations.

About our latest investment

Our most recent investment includes a new citral plant as part of our Verbund site in Zhanjiang, China, as well as menthol and linalool downstream plants at our Verbund site in Ludwigshafen, Germany.

These plants are expected to come on stream from 2026 onwards. With this investment, we will further expand and diversify our existing aroma ingredients' citral value chain footprint to support our customers' growth opportunities. The citral plant in China will strengthen our position in key growth regions and increase production of a broad range of aroma ingredients and further downstream products globally.
